Mondo Beyondo

Dec 31, 2008

I got the idea for the Mondo Beyondo list from Andrea several years ago. I like them so much more than New Year’s Resolutions — although, I will sheepishly admit that I have resolved to lose 10lbs by spring. How cliched!

This list is so much more magical than that, though. This is the list of hope and dreams for 2009. A Mondo Beyondo list can be filled with outlandish, reckless, seemingly impossible hopes and wants, which is very freeing. My list, though, is relatively attainable. 2009 is going to be a GREAT year for me and I am very excited to get started.

My list for 2009:
- See Starsara
- Learn to play piano
- Fall in love
- Learn to speak publicly
- Buy a new camera
- Get my passport
- Journal every day
- Better diet
- Get tattooed
- Show my art
- Healthier self image
- Fly a kite
- Take more photos
- MAKE IT LAST
- Travel
- Go to Africa
- Start yoga again
- Associate’s degree!
- Say “no” more often
- Say “yes” more often

Here’s to 2009!

This really inspired me. The picture, the idea behind it, the items on your list… everything. I think you have a beautiful list and I hope that all of these things come your way. :)

On a more random note, I really love the simplicity of the look here. I was all excited to go to my Google Reader and see you had a post. I love the colors! I’m so envious, haha.

I participate in a lot of self improvement, which would be hard to guess by my seemingly careless attitude, but I encourage and applaud a list like this. In my world and that of similar practicing folks, we call this an area of focus at a specific altitude. A Someday/Maybe list from the GTD systematic approach to be specific.

It’s a great tool and one that keeps us motivated to move forward on the mundane actions we do day to day by having distributed cognition on our internal commitments that we can review when we need a break from it all. Nice post.
