Here are a few fun morsels to drop a little cash on now that you are (or you’re going to be) self-employed.

1. The Boss of You: Everything A Woman Needs to Know to Start, Run, and Maintain Her Own Business This book is super fab. There are a lot of books out there on this topic. I don’t get through the first few pages on most of them. I loved this book for it’s fresh, fun writing. It’s about ten bucks on Amazon. Worth it!

2. Business card holder by Madbird. I’ve purchased several of these – partially because they’re so cute and inexpensive, and partially because my dog loves to eat them. Alecia has the customer service thing DOWN. I had her custom make one for me and had it in my hands just a few days later. AWESOME. Carry your business cards in style! (I love that there are two pockets – I use one for my own cards, and one for cards I’ve gotten from other people.)

3. Portfolio Wallet – I don’t currently own this, but oh how I want to! Isn’t it gorgeous? This would be great for client meetings or even just to carry around to jot down brilliant ideas. Super handy, especially for someone like me who doesn’t really carry around a purse. (I love bags, but I can’t seem to stick to one lately.)

What are some of your delicious must-haves?

PS. Also pick up Office Space incase you start to miss the old gig. Ha!
